THE TRAIN STATION MANIFESTO
Core Values We Aspire To Live By
The Train Station was founded in 2017 by two lifelong friends, Paul Gaustad and Matt Bader. Gaustad and Bader were line mates in hockey near continuously from the age of eleven through the age of seventeen. They grew up playing in the non-traditional hockey market of Portland, Oregon and while they helped each other on the ice it was off the ice where both pushed each other to continuously improve. Gaustad and Bader worked out together, rollerbladed together, stickhandled and shot pucks together, and mentally challenged each other to reach their goals. Ultimately both exceeded their childhood goals. Gaustad enjoyed a fourteen year pro career including multiple NHL seasons in Buffalo and Nashville while Bader played four years of Division I hockey at Air Force Academy before moving onto professional careers in the military and management consulting.
In the summer of 2017 the duo fulfilled a lifelong dream of giving back to the hockey community that opened up so many life opportunities for them by opening the Train Station. The team's vision was to build the off ice facility they dreamed of as young aspiring players. The Train Station team is proud to own and operate a facility that is dedicated to making other young hockey players dreams come true both on and off the ice.
